Do you have one or more successful permission campaigns that you run/have run to generate new subscribers to your email and/or text list?
Yes
Tell us about your Permission strategy and how you deliver it to fans:
I launched my first FSH last March (paid traffic) with a budget of £20/day, cost per lead was £0.17. My bribe was a CD compilation of 10 tracks including 2 exclusive ones, with my debut album (11 tracks) as a bump and a 6-track digital EP of unreleased remixes and b-sides as the 2nd upsell. This strategy generated close to 1,500 new mailing list subscribers and it paid for itself.
I believe the appeal of this offer came from the free CD being advertised using our most popular music video, which is very well shot and cinematic, and the funnel offering the bump album at half-price, which was great value and enticed people to buy both CDs rather than just ordering the free one.
In parallel, we also have an organic opt-in strategy on our website where people get access to a free secret online gig when they join our mailing list. Anyone joining also receives an email series with more exclusive content and shop discounts.
These two strategies combined have brought in a lot of new fans into our ecosystem since March, who seem to be sticking around, with a very low unsubscription rate (0.5%). We are currently nurturing them with monthly email updates containing behind-the-scenes about a new album we're working on.
Describe your growth with your permission list(s) in the last 12 months and your engagement trends:
Our mailing list has grown from 100 to nearly 1,600 subscribers and we have also noticed an increase of subscribers across our platforms, especially Spotify, Youtube and Apple Music, which we don't advertise, so it likely all came from the FSH. Engagement has also increased on Facebook and Instagram.
Lastly, please tell us why you think you should be a finalist for the Builder Award:
I have been a part of Indepreneur since 2020 and previously had some great results with the FanFinder method, but due to financial limitations, I couldn't keep running it indefinitely. Launching a FSH funnel built inside the CRM was a total game changer, because unlike the FanFinder, it brings in revenue and pays for itself!
I think I was one of the first Indies to build this strategy within the new CRM last November and it took me a few months of trial and error to set everything up, it was a lot of hard work but once it launched, I was blown away by the results! Also a huge thank you to Ande for his help through IndieFounder during that crucial phase. I learned so much and it's been really exciting to finally grow and get heard, especially in the lead-up to a new release, which is my current focus.
