Tell us about your Permission strategy and how you deliver it to fans:
My Permission strategy is about building trust and genuine connections with my fans while giving them real value in exchange for joining my community. I've used a mix of organic and paid traffic to reach as many jazz lovers as possible and grow my audience effectively.
I do it in different ways:
1. Organic Traffic:
- I create engaging content on social media, such as behind-the-scenes videos, snippets of my performances, and free educational tips
- I encourage people to join my email list by offering something valuable, like "A Free Transcription of a Legendary Solo"
- I also promote sign-ups at my live events, on my website, during live streams and on all my YouTube videos
2. Paid Traffic:
- I've run targeted ads on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube focusing on reaching jazz learners, musicians, and fans
- My ads highlight the freebie—often a transcription of a famous solo—and why they'd love to have it
- The GLW Campaign I am running at the moment has a cost of $0.01 for each Post Engagement
3. What I Offer:
My "bribe" is a free jazz solo transcription of a classic piece played by the legendary Stan Getz. After a few weeks, I deliver them a video of myself playing that transcription. This works so well because it speaks directly to what my audience wants: a practical way to improve their skills and connect with the music they love.
4. How I Deliver:
When someone signs up, they instantly receive the transcription and guide via email. From there, I send a series of welcome emails to introduce them to my brand, share upcoming events, and highlight some of my premium offerings, like advanced transcriptions and CDs. This sequence helps me turn new sign-ups into engaged fans who interact with my content and attend live concerts.
The Results:
- I've grown my email list from 300 to more than 820 since following the IndiePro guidance
- Many of these new fans went to buy on the F+SH Campaign and the Black Friday sales and even started attending my concerts

- Audience Retention: Fans remain engaged through a well-structured welcome series and regular emails offering a mix of valuable content, event announcements, and product promotions
This growth and engagement have translated directly into more website traffic, increased sales of transcriptions and CDs, and higher attendance at my live shows.
