Cloning

Dubbed "the future of alt-rock in Australia” (Tyler Jenke - Rolling Stone), Cloning's textured, introspective take on alt-rock continues to win them fans across the country.

Based in Perth, the most isolated capital city in the world, they’ve released 3 EPs and toured Australia 3 times, selling out shows thousands of kilometres from home.

“Sort of moment you’d reminisce upon in twenty-odd years and think, ‘…I was a part of something that mattered’” – The Music reviewing Cloning Brisbane show.

Please give us a brief overview of your touring over the last 12 months:
We're about to finish our 3rd Australian tour

- Melbourne (The Workers Club): 220/220 tix sold/sold out.

- Brisbane (Tomcat): 215/250 tix sold

- Canberra (The Polo): 115/140 tix sold

- Sydney (Waywards): 150/220 tix sold

- Adelaide (Grace Emily Hotel): 140/140 tix sold/sold out.

- Perth (Indian Ocean Hotel): currently 140/300 tix sold with show in 3 days time.

This 2024 tour has seen big increases in sales compared with last tour. Our previous Australian tour in April 2023 we sold 80 tickets in Melbourne, 100 in Brisbane, 100 in Sydney & 100 in Perth.

This 2024 tour was also the first time we ever played in Adelaide & Canberra so we were very encouraged by the strong sales in these cities for our first time there. The 2024 Melbourne show was sold out days in advance & the Adelaide show sold out the day of the show. Because we live in Perth, one of the most isolated cities in the world, most of these shows were 3500 kilometres (or 2000 miles) away with Adelaide the nearest at 2000 kilometres.

Tell us about your ticket selling strategy:
- Running a F+S/H campaign from January till the tour

- Announcing tour 4 months out with a presale to the email list which sold 20% of tickets in first week - Running a meta ads conversions campaign to push ticket sales & cycling out creatives frequently to keep them fresh & performing. Emphasised scarcity when tickets were running low.

- Tour posters printed & displayed in cafes/bars/busy street corners within tour markets - Email list segmented by postcodes/cities to allow direct & personalised (referring to their specific city & ticketing link) communications with fans in each tour city.

- Frequent email updates to list including a 'tour stories' series which gave our favourite stories from tour in email installments.

- Giveaway competition which gave those who didn't win 20% discount offer for tickets. - Including a QR code with link to tickets & personalised invite to show in respective city in the letters we send out with our F+S/H orders - if recipient was in one of the tour markets.

- Frequent updates in fan discord
